After getting over the initial shock of how much $$$$ the medicine is. And reading all the warnings that come with it/ scaring my self half to death with all the side effects that could occur (like 3 pages of small print! ) I have taken the first step towards recovery and swallowed the little pill.
And I have good news so far. No side effects and still feeling good....now lets just hope my body keeps feeling great!! (fingers crossed)
I have recently dubbed this whole adventure down here my MED - I - CATION ... since I'm not working and just spending my days relaxing and recovering it sometimes feels like a mini - vacation. It's a pretty positive spin on the whole thing so I'm just going to keep going with the med-i-cation.
I was feeling so amazing wonderful and full of blood and oxygen this weekend that my parents and I decided to volunteer at the Houston Food Bank! It is on of the LARGEST food bank if not the largest one in the world. Lets just say it was AMAZING. Here are some pictures
(totally off topic but if anyone can help me with this photo arrangement in blogger I could use some help...in my view of the post these two photos above show up side by side and then when i hit publish they do this funky thing! HELP!!!)
We spent the afternoon sorting these HUGE BINS into smaller boxes. One of the huge bins was filled with food and the other one was filled with toiletries. Then we helped package over 13,000 family packs with another group of volunteers. It's always a great feeling to help out when you are able to help and I think I need to find somewhere in Philly to volunteer at when I get back. Any ideas???
bonus picture of my dad in his bee outfit!!! hehe
Thanks for supporting the Houston Food Bank, Elle! Doing for others definitely helps take your mind off of your own troubles, doesnt it? Let's catch a movie or something soon!

ReplyDeleteFood not bombs in philly is great! they make food and serve to the homeless!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely look into Food not Bombs thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteMed-i-cation..........GREAT idea! You should copyright that! Very clever....
ReplyDeleteMay I make a suggestion. Keep a journal of the name of each med and the strength and any side effects you have. On down the road, you might need to refer to it. It will be exceedingly helpful.
One day at a time!
Thanks I came up with that one with my aunt! And great idea about writing down all the side effects when they occur, I will start doing that if I start having any. Cross your fingers day 2 was side effect free as well!!
